Hello darlings, I thought you might enjoy a post on doing laundry. I"will take some pictures of me doing it while I give you a little background and history. Persil, introduced by the German company Henkel in 1907 was the world's first laundry powder. The name derives from perborate and silicate, two key components in the product. Persil was introduced as an improvement over the action of soap, the traditional cleaning agent first formulated around 1500 BC . We owe the invention of the washing machine to Jacob Christian Schäffer ( 1767 ). 30 years later, an American, Nathaniel Briggs, obtained the first patent for a washing machine. It involved pouring hot water into a tank, turning a lever to wash the clothes and then wringing them between two rollers. A hand-cranked clothes dryer was created in 1800 by M. Pochon from France.
